2.5x higher CVR than native benchmarks in DTC Health
NewsBreak is an American local news app with over 50 millions users. The company connects and empowers locals and businesses thanks to innovative tech.
Schwartz Consulting, a long-term Teads partner, specialises in performance-driven native advertising and has over a decade of experience running digital campaigns across industries.
The Challenge
A DTC health and wellbeing brand ran an established US acquisition programme on traditional native networks. Rather than wait for diminishing returns, our team introduced NewsBreak as an incremental growth lever: a distinct audience, inventory and creative environment that compounds performance without competing in the same auctions.
The Creative
A native UGC ad, served directly in the NewsBreak feed and routed to an advertorial rather than the product page. This was the format that drove the majority of the performance gap.
The Strategy
Our native ad agency ported the brand’s top-performing UGC creatives from other channels directly to NewsBreak. Rather than routing traffic to the existing product page, Schwartz Consulting introduced an advertorial between the ad and the offer.
NewsBreak’s audience reads with editorial intent, so a direct-to-product funnel creates a context mismatch, while the advertorial earns the reader’s trust before asking for anything. Both decisions were validated within the first weeks of the campaign.

Our Playbook for NewsBreak
1. Test every format
Accounts that scale the fastest cover the full format mix from the start:
- horizontal thumbnails
- vertical visuals
- GIFs
- UGC
Each reaches a different segment and behaves differently in the feed. At Schwartz Consulting, we run all four in parallel on every new campaign, and let the data decide which format to push.
2. Recycle everything that already works
Creatives, landing pages, funnels. The assets that already perform on your other native channels are the right starting point, with no need to build from scratch. Porting proven logic shortens the learning phase and gets the algorithm to a useful signal faster.
3. Let the algorithm compound
The first 90 days are an investment in signal quality, not a verdict on the channel. The 14x growth over three quarters is the direct output of patience in the accumulation phase, followed by disciplined scaling once the algorithm had enough data to work with.
“Most European agencies have never run a NewsBreak campaign. That is precisely why it is a competitive advantage for the clients who do. We operate where the competition is not, and the results reflect that.”
